    Cam,
What does the NRA’s lawyer think our chances are that the 2nd will be ruled a collective right verus an individual right?

Seems to me the Court has recognized that Heller(therefore, all of us) has a right protected by the Second Amendment, to wit:

“Whether the following provisions — D.C. Code secs. 7-2502.02(a)(4), 22-4504(a), and 7-2507.02 — violate the Second Amendment rights of individuals who are not affiliated with any state-regulated militia, but who wish to keep handguns and other firearms for private use in their homes?”

Shouldn’t be too difficult for them to figure out that these sections of the DC code infringe upon that right.

Notice, however, that the Court framed the question around “firearms” which has a finite definition in the law whereas the Second Amendment prohibits infringement upon our right to arms; “arms” being all encompassing, covering weapons of all sorts and armour.

If I’m prohibited to infringe upon your person, it doesn’t matter whether I punch you in the face or tickle your nose with a feather to have infringed upon your person.
