Cameras Don’t Equal Security

Over in England, they love their CCTV.  Hasn’t done much to reduce the crime rate (the violent crime rate in England is about three times higher than the violent crime rate in the U.S.).  Yet still they persist in adding more cameras.

Now critics say the cameras don’t just undermine individual liberty, but society as a whole.  Which makes sense, since society is made up of, you know, a bunch of individuals.

One Response to “Cameras Don’t Equal Security”

    Terry Says:

Keep in mind that it is now the Brits that have created a whole new class of criminal. Those guilty of “anti-social” behavior, which includes a long list of individual “crimes” are subject to arrest and loss of property. Perhaps this increase in the numbers of cameras is vital toward the enforcement of the new crimes.

Since I’m not sure whether there is an easy way for a web plebe to post a link, the address below needs the “www” stuff in front. This is what I think is the official site for the above mentioned program.
