- anything longer than a 15 minute car ride requires a Dramanine for Andrew. This means you cannot go to Best Buy without dosing him.
- you forgot that Best Buy has “24″ on sale… $19.99 per season. That means you could have bought two seasons of “24″ for the same price that got you one season of “The Office”. And no matter how funny “The Office” is… it doesn’t have Jack Bauer.
Ahh…instead of doping up Andrew with Dramamine, try using powdered ginger capsules that you can find in a health food store or pharmacy. MythBusters did a whole thing on motion sickness pills and the ginger came out a winner. Plus it’s all natural and most likely healthier for Andrew than Dramamine is. Don’t know what the cost of the ginger capsules are compared to Dramamine, but it’s a sure bet that there’s no way he can overdose on ginger.
I’ve even given Ginger Altoids to people who get motion sickness, and that works too, but Andrew’s probably not old enough to handle the extremely strong mint as yet. Even Ginger Ale works.
I’m not a big advocate of “dosing” children (with drugs) when there are natural remedies to simple problems. (Don’t even get me started on ADD and Ritalin…grrr.)
Anyway, I hope Andrew outgrows his motion sickness. Maybe have his ears checked for blockages that prevent fluids in his inner ears from draining. Those fluids sloshing around in there while he’s in the car might be causing dizziness that’s making him toss his cookies. It’s a common problem in children that causes inner ear infections and could be worth looking into.
Maybe re-direct his attention to signs, places of interest. Look at the horizon.
