Arizona taxpayers, and to some extent all US taxpayers are paying to educate the children of Mexico.
Students living in Mexico have been regularly crossing the border to attend school in a remote southern Arizona community, a misuse of taxpayer funds, the state’s top education official said Wednesday.
State schools Superintendent Tom Horne said an investigator he sent to the port of entry in Lukeville videotaped students walking across the border to a bus stop 200 yards north, then taking school buses to the community of Ajo.
Are you suprised?
Before you know it, there’ll be an advocacy group popping up to demand the school busses be sent over the border so these kids don’t have to walk so far.
Fine. I say it’s time to anex Mexico. We can fire the corrupt government, provide jobs to the locals and make use of its oil fields.
I couldn’t agree more with Martin! We can shift the outsourcing and manufacturing of goods from China, who will use any technology to try and kill us, to Mexico.
I don’t think I’m too big on the annexing of Mexico but perhaps a commonwealth?
Sure - we could follow the Puerto Rico model. It would be a heck of a lot easier to guard the border with Guatemala Belize - plus for a neighboring country, Guatemala and Belize have really cool names. And who can resist going down to Monkey River Town or Punta Gorda?
I’ve got to tell you, I ask myself that very question daily — as I teach in a school where at least 15% of the students are in this country illegally (I’m guessing 1/3 of my Hispanic students are illegal).
Not only that, but if a student were to tell me that he was here illegally, I would be fired for making the call to the appropriate authorities to report that fact.
Even - who I call Governor-PRO-TEM for what will be obvious reasons - Christine Gregoire in WA State wants to do the same thing, in a way - governor.wa.gov/news/news-view.asp?pressRelease=89&newsType=1 :

Methinks we should just have a Canada-USA-Mexico merger and be done w/ it.
Barring that, have an amendment to the U.S. Constitution declaring a treasonous act using American taxdollars to pay for illegal aliens’ services. (Foriegn aid to help other countries, like Mexico, to help themselves should be obviously exempt.)
I agree that we should annex Mexico. If you have to live with the people, you might as well have the real estate that goes with them.
