Is this a case of life imitating a television show?
A Metrolink commuter train rammed into a vehicle that was apparently deliberately placed on the railroad tracks, setting off a derailment that killed nine people and injuring more than 100 others, authorities said.
Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca said authorities were speaking with the driver of the vehicle and believe it was intentionally parked on the tracks.
Fans of “24″ will recall the opening episode of this season, when a commuter train derailed because terrorists had deliberately parked a car on the tracks. Wonder what the story is in real life.
By the way, one of our commentors referenced a Michelle Malkin blog entry about one of the actresses on “24″ and her comments on terrorism. Great comments, and you can read them here.
I had heard that it was more attributed to some guy wanting to commit suicide and backing out at the last minute. Supposedly he is now wanted for homicide for the deaths he caused due to the train derailment.
And I’m glad to know there is someone else out there on the web (well, the web that *I* partake of) that enjoys “24″. When I saw the ending of the first season, I knew this was going to be a show to watch, depsite the amnesia/cougar attacks subplots…
