Is This Really a Felony? (Farrah)

From Fox News

Two boys, ages 9 and 10, were charged with felonies and taken away from school in handcuffs, accused of making violent drawings of stick figures

The special education students (search) used pencil and red crayon to draw primitive stick figure scenes on scrap paper that showed a 10-year-old classmate being stabbed and hung, police said.

“The officer found they were drawing these pictures for the sole purpose of intimidating and scaring the victim,” said Ocala Police Sgt. Russ Kern

Ok, this is serious, I’ll agree. But a A FELONY?

**UPDATE**

I don’t know if this is a felony, but it is ridiculous. There used to be a game we played, when I was a youngster called Hangman. I don’t remember the details, but the game involved drawing a stick figure on a gallows. Pretty harmless and I didn’t grow up to be a mass murderer, yet.

I’m tellin’ y’all, this is simply the desensitising of our kids to get them ready for a police state. Step by step, inch by inch, that is where this country is headed if we don’t put a stop to it! This is what zero tolerance is doing to our kids. It enrages us, but it is becoming the norm for our kids. Do you want the NEA to run this country? It is headed that way!

    NEA, NOW, ACLU, etc, Woody.

Zero tolerance is just in place to placate the parents of hoodlums when a good kid does something similar.

For example…Johnny Hoodlum brings a gun to school and tells people he is going to kill someone and gets suspended for 5 days for having a weapon on school grounds. Billy Goodkid brings an exacto knife to school in order to cut something for an art project and also must be suspended for 5 days for having a weapon on school grounds. If not, Mrs Hoodlum will go to the next school board meeting and complain that both her angel, Johnny and that Goodkid brat had weapons and her angel got a much more drastic punishment. Never mind that Billy Goodkid has a 4.0 average and has never been in trouble and Johnny Hoodlum has his own chair reserved in the Principal’s waiting room.

Zero Tolerance is idiotic, but the schools want to cover their back sides.

Yeah, I know. They cover their back sides and our kids get used to zero tolerance, no common sense, police state dictate, totalitarian control. Our kids are being taught that common sense is a non-factor. Our kids are being taught not to question authority. Our kids are being taught that the most minor infraction will net the maximum punishment.

It’s best we adopt a zero tolerance policy with the administration of our schools and thus the rule of our kids. Stop it now. Reinstate common sense and all the proper levels of disipline. Billy Goodkid does nothing wrong bringing an exacto knife to school in order to cut something for an art project. Johnny Hoodlum needs to get his proper comeuppance and his parents can go pound sand.

Oh sure, using stick figures is funny until somebody gets hurt!!

You could poke an eye out using those stick figures.

true, kevin, but until someone loses an eye, they should be able to keep using the stick figures. First ammendment and whatnot.
