A new Wal-Mart going up in New Haven, CT won’t be selling firearms. It also won’t be selling bows. It also won’t be selling paintball equipment.
Why? Because the city, including the chief of police, put pressure on Wal-Mart.
Now, here’s the kicker of the story.
Police Chief Francisco Ortiz Jr. wrote to the retail giant expressing his displeasure at the prospective sale of guns.
“As a police chief in an urban center, I’m very concerned about the lawful as well as unlawful possession of firearms in the community,” he said. (emphasis mine)
Yep. Gotta watch out for those law abiding citizens. Now if only they’d ban auto sales in New Haven… they could see the DUI rate drop dramatically!
